Accessibility Statement

Peacemark is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually working to improve the experience for every user and to apply the relevant accessibility standards so this website is usable by as many people as possible, regardless of ability or technology.

Conformance status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

California and federal law

We design this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. As a health care provider that is open to the public, we are subject to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act, and we use WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our benchmark for meeting our obligations under those laws. We are committed to accessibility regardless of whether a specific law applies.

Measures we take

  • Considering accessibility throughout our design and content process.
  • Using semantic HTML with clear landmark regions (header, navigation, main content, and footer) and a logical heading structure on every page.
  • Providing a “Skip to content” link so keyboard and screen-reader users can bypass the navigation and go straight to the main content.
  • Providing descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images and marking purely decorative images so assistive technologies can skip them.
  • Giving icon-only controls and links clear, descriptive names, and indicating when a link opens in a new tab.
  • Building interactive components, such as the FAQ accordion, with appropriate ARIA roles and full keyboard support.
  • Supporting keyboard navigation with a visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
  • Maintaining color contrast that meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA (a minimum 4.5:1 ratio for body text) and using legible typography.
  • Identifying the page language and giving each page a unique, descriptive title.
  • Respecting reduced-motion preferences for users who are sensitive to animation.
  • Designing the site to remain usable at different screen sizes and zoom levels.
